Make-up & Photography part deux with tips!

For those of you interested in capturing make-up in your photography, these tips are for you!

1. As most of you already know, it's very difficult to capture make-up on photo's because the light takes away from the intended look, so tip # 1 is remove the flash, change the lighting setting (if you are familiar with your camera setting) to a more dimmer flash, or Shoot near a big window with lights coming in so that natural lighting is used during the photography session. If photography is taking place outdoors, do so in the evening around 4 pm to 5 pm, when the sun is about to set. Soft lighting enhances the appearance.

2. Sensitivity settings on digital cameras are the equivalent of ISO ratings on film. Just about every digital camera will have settings with a sensitivity equivalent to ISO 100 film and ISO 200 film. ISO 3200 will act like HD on t.v's so it will really enhance your make-up!

3. The macro button is used to take pictures of objects real close, so if you put the macro setting on hold the lens pretty close to you eye or lips to get pics with great detail of your make-up!

4. Night Scene (Also called Night, Night Landscape; Similar: Fireworks): use this setting so the result will look dramatic. Night scene sets the camera at infinity and chooses the proper aperture and shutter speeds. this setting combines flash with long exposure to capture background detail and lighting ...so if you are in a well lit room, this will give your picture a funky aurora look with colors leaking into others!
***Lean your camera against a steady surface or use a tripod to avoid shake.
